About Me

Hello! I’m Alexandra Jedrey, an oil painter deeply inspired by the coastal landscapes of my Rhode Island upbringing. Growing up along the shores, I developed a profound connection to the sea and its treasures. The countless shells I’ve collected, stepped on, and cherished have become a significant source of inspiration in my art.

My paintings explore the vibrant and intricate colors of these coastal gems, particularly the pearlescent hues of mussels. Since 2018, when I first painted mussels for my own home, I have been captivated by their delicate, iridescent beauty. This recent focus on shells is a heartfelt tribute to my childhood memories and a vision for my future.

After studying art at the University of New Hampshire and living in six different states, I realized that nothing resonates with me quite like the shores of Rhode Island. In 2020, I returned to RI with my husband and our dog, Scallop, and proud to call Warwick our home. My work now reflects a deeper connection to the organic forms of our coastline, recreating the natural art that mother earth provides.

As I further immerse myself in the New England art scene, I strive to grow my practice and share my passion for coastal beauty with a wider audience, hoping to one day become a household name.
